Unlock Car with Cell Phone

Unlock Car with Cell Phone
For this you will need two people, and two GSM phones.
1.)Move car away from remote until you are sure it does not work and will not work.
2.)Have someone with a cell phone go to the car, either you call them or they call you.
3.)Person by car should place 'phone at MOST, 1 foot away from the car driver side door, while the call is still active.
4.)Person with remote and other phone should place remote by reciever of phone and press unlock.
5.)Doors should unlock, DISTANCE IS NOT A FACTOR (NOTE GOOD RECEPTION HELPS).

Is it possible that the phones are acting like super antennae and would help transmit the remote signal with the phones turned off?
Also, what would the range be in your scenario? (with the phones ON)
If they are acting like an antenna, then the range will be relatively short, as opposed to telephone signals that have a much different range.
There does seem to be some success with this, but we don't know why.

Yes, this has been posted before and it is an urban legend. Someone did an experiment and they found that if they were on their cell and activated the remote it would unlock the doors from a significant distance. You didn't have to have another person on the other end holding their cell next to the car. I think they found that the actual phone acted like an antenae and increased the range of the remote. I don't remember the distance that they were able to get using the phone. I haven't tried this myself so I'm not sure if it works, but the guy that tried it sounded pretty credible.

There's an old thread about this on G35driver. It did in fact ataully work on a couple believe I believe but from a scientific standpoint, I think they were just pretty close by. If anything maybe the cell helps transmit the remote signal a little longer but you can't be doing this miles away.

Along the same line, (& also posted b4)
you can increase your remote range by pressing the remote to your chin.
I've done this several times.
Every walk away and wonder.... did I lock it?
Shi!! to far for the remote to work.
Press to chin & try again.......magic.
