G35 Running Rough
G35 Running Rough
2003 G35 Coupe auto with almost no issues.
I have read most of the numerous threads on this topic but can't figure my issue out.
About 5 years ago my G cutoff while I was driving. I pulled over and finally got it restarted and it happened again about 2 months ago. Service engine soon never came on either time. 4 days ago it stated running mildly rough at idle and an occasional rough at speed. I replaced the plugs and put in some injector cleaner. When I started it up, the SES light came on and the engine was running considerably rougher. I had the code checked and was an O2 sensor. I replaced both of the upstream sensors and was even more rough than before. It would only run about 10 seconds then shut off. I revved it a few times and it shut off. I waited a few minutes and cranked it back up and everything was fine. I am not convinced it is fixed and will be difficult to have someone diagnose with it running fine. I'm thinking it may have been some trash in the fuel that worked its way out. Has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks

More than likely a bad camshaft position sensor or crankshaft position sensor. All are pretty basic DIY jobs if you can turn a wrench.
+1... was gonna say the same thing. Seems to be a fairly common problem on our whips. We get a post about similar symptoms on here about once a week. Pull the CEL code to verify.
May be the Valve Assembly Solenoid. I had a CEL for a crankshaft position sensor on the Autozone OBD scanner. I have an extended warranty and went to the stealership. Their codes showed i needed O2 sensors and Valve Assembly Solenoids. I just had them replaced because of the warranty, but you may be able to just clean them as they get "stuck" in one position or another.....pretty easy DIY if you search it here. This is also just my personal experience with my CEL, O2 sensors and Crankshaft sensors.
