What is that noise???

I went to a mechanic and he said he doesn't hear anything but I know I'm not hearing things. Its so annoying when I pull up next to a car. Sometimes it sounds like metal clanking. Anyone know of this?

almost sounds like you have a heat shield fluttering against the exhaust. crawl under the car and have a look at them.
