Dash Experiment

I was sick and tired of my dash splitting. I decided to be a guinea pig and give this dash cover a try. I was skeptical at first but i went with sedona suede.

I think that looks better than a cracked dash. Where does it crack? what other choices did they have?

Its just a temporary fix. I had a few hairlike splits around my airbag and near instrument cluster. I went with Sedona Suede and they also have brushed suede.

Yea it doesnt look fantastic by any stretch of the imagination, but it looks a hell of a lot better than a split up dash. How much was that cover?

I still have to adjust it a little bit. I paid 70 with shipping.

Thats pretty cheap. I guess for 70 bucks it looks decent. Those dash covers usually look atrocious and dont fit at all...

Yeah thats why i went with dashtopper is because they actually make them instead of just being a distributor. With this one just have to play with it. I might get more velcro and put in in more places like around the vents.

mafioso mexicano para el hombre la vida!!!!!

I'm just kidding...I had the black fake suede one on my TL and I used the 1.5" wide Velcro from Lowes and just put a ton of the one side that sticks to the dash cover in all the cracks, crevises, all over the dash wherever it needed it. Don't stick the Velcro to the dash cover and then Velcro to the actual dash board. Use that one side off the roll from lowes and you can push and pull the cover into place. I did it when it was blazing how outside, i think that help me manipulate it or it was the beer. It doesn't look bad at all, that cover fits very well and they do machine cut each one to order.

Its funny you said that you did this to your tl. I found tl forum and that's where I got ybe idea. I honestly did not use that much tape. Just what came with the dash. I ride with windows down and np.

I know that no one likes a cracked dash, but that doesn't look any better. I figure that you have to look pretty close to see the cracks (mine at least) but that cover screams 1992 Buick Lesabre from a mile away.

Way too many G35 owners are disappointed with their cracked dashboards. Just because these cars are no longer under warranty is a reason not to be upset. Contact Infiniti Consumer Affairs and complain. Infiniti fit and finish including their materials are substandard and are defective. The FX had cracked dashboards replaced. The G35s are as bad if not worse.
