Hey guys! i'm in the process of getting a new car and i just test drove a manual g35 coupe today. i took it out in a parking lot but it was still pretty fun. this was my third time driving a manual car so don't laugh at me. i'm wanting to buy one as soon as possible and the salesman suggested in taking some driving lessons for manual. i don't want to settle for an automatic. i have one of those and i really want the manual now. i don't really wanna bug my friends into teaching me. i've done that already and i feel bad that i use their car. so i was wondering if anyone knows a place i can take some lessons in driving manual in the Houston area preferably close to Clear Lake if you know where that is.
Thanks in Advance
ya it seems like rental places dont rent out manual cars. just auto. the salesman said he would look for a school for me. but still figuring out what i should do about learning. if its really worth paying to go to a driving school.

There is not a lot you can do to truly mess up the transmission in trying to learn. The key is to practice. A school parking lot on a weekend is a good place. once you get 1st gear down, the rest is a piece of cake. We used to have cruising on Santa Monica Blvd out in Hollywood many years ago. After teaching a friend the basics of driving a stick in a parking lot, we drove out to the strip and drove up and down the strip. Since it's pretty much all 1st gear, she had it down after about 2 hours. At least enough to be able to get around on her own.
