I have no problem with the water blade, I think it does a great job. I also use a "Real Chamois" and if you let it soak for a few minutes then wring it out real well you will be amazed and the water it will pickup. I also use the chamois on my windows and they have no spots or streaks at all.

I was washing my car at a drive-in car wash (hand sprayer) over the winter due to my lawn hose being frozen. I would just use the spray soap and rinse and of course not use the brush. I was mostlt trying to keep the road salt to a minimum. I noticed that when drying the driver's side car door, there was a white film that would come up. Thinking that it wasn't a thorough washing I thought it would come out with a good hand washing and yes I do not use fabric softner or drying sheets on my microfiber towels so I ruled that out as leaving the film. It got up to about 50 the other day and I was able to hand wash. I decided to use Johnson's Baby Shampoo since I was told by a detailer that it does a good job of stripping off old waxes while still being more gentle on the paint than Dawn dishwashing liquid. When I began drying the car the film came back. It does not cover the whole door just about 5% of it by the rocker panel. The film then fades a lot but I can still see it if I look closely. I have a G35C in desert platinum. Any suggestions???
Ok, not all microfiber towels are the same but the prices on some of these websites are ridiculous! I bought 18 16x16 microfiber towels at Sam's for about $12. Great for drying your car and no scratches period. I am happy with them.
I use the Mr. Clean Auto Dry system. The filters for the system say you can use it for about 10 carwashes...depending on local water quality. I go to Wally world buy a new filter everytime I was the car. Spray it with the autodry system and air dry....No water spots. Be sure to wash the car in the evening to ensure the sun is not baking you car.
I've heard a leaf blower is the best thing you can use to dry the car. Personally, I will be washing it with Dawn (first time washing it) and then using Mr. Clean Autodry to wash it off, and then using a leaf blower to dry it off. After that, I'll open up that 125$ package of zaino i just bought and put it to good use.
The thing I didn't like about the Mr Clean system is that it leaves a residue that's is hard to see... In my case it coated the windows in that stuff too so if you don't clean off the residue it'll make driving in the rain a pain. This was with my old Black Honda.
But I definately use the Mr Clean system for the filtered water =)

Ok folks here goes..... The best way to wash your car:
1. Spray your car off to remove all large particles and dust. Dust and particles can scratch your paint fairly quickly will what ever tool you use ie sponge wool whatever.
2. I use Megiuar's NXT Generation car wash soap along with a Lamb wool washing mitt.
3. Wash the car twice. Go over the surface twice entvery inch.
4. Folks wash your wheel wells! Dirty wheel wells are the sign of lazyness.
5. The asborber worker well for removing large amoounts of water from your car surface. Dont use this to dry the surface completely.
6. Hit the rest of the water with waffle weave microfiber (=ww mf) towel.
7. Dont wax your car to death. You only need to wax 3 times a year max! Anyone tells you different is wrong. Build up from excessive wax will dull your shine.
8. Polish, quick easy simple. I use Megiuar's polish with excellent results every time.
9. Make sure to use clean terry towels to remove wax. Turn towels frequently. I can usually get the car done in 3 towels.
10. wheels need polish too. Wipe you wheel down and polish. Buff to shine minimal effort.
11. tire gels....most if not all work well. Again I use Megiuar's,....sincing a trend here
.
Those are the simple steps, but twice to 3 times a year I wax and use clay bar to remove deposits and sediments. Clean door jams, hood jams, trunk jams, and etc. Nothing over the top keep it simple. Be open to new products, sometimes the work better. 25 plus years of cleaning my fathers cars, and now my cars. Please excuse any spelling mistakes. If you'd like proof just to ask the G squad members who went to Valley Forge PA meet in early march.

ok, i am one of those unlucky ppl who clean with buckets. I live in an apartment that doesn't permit car washing for some odd reason. I use buckets at my school (no hose). The zaino process seems like a good way to clean the car. I had the car since july 2004, and I washed the car for less than 5 times. I only used regular auto strauss carwash each time and I never waxed or polished. When you use dawn detergent, how much of it do you add to a bucket?
What i find is that if you get lots of sand and rub it on your car it cleans the bad stuff off. i usually get a 1.85 gallon bucket, filled with 1/6.7 inches of sand, then i fill it with water and dump it on my car, then i scrub.
I just ran out of Zaino during my last polish. I was thinking of switching to a single step solution like Meguire's NXT, which seems to be get recommended around here a lot.
Will it give a result comparable to the Zaino?

Easy to put on and get off.
It looked great.....for about 2-3 weeks.....didn't seem to hold up very well.
