G35 ship with 5-30 ??? help quick please !
Hiya guys,
i know these cars ship with 5-30. however all i read in the manual was 5-30 was good for all weather and 10-30 was good above 0 degrees.
thing is i got my car back from the dealer and he tossed 10-30 in... im like WTF all my other cars had 5-30. so time to stir the pot abit.
any confirmation on 5-30 from factory would be appreciated !
(awaiting call back from service mgr)

nvmind... drove back to dealer... and lol service mgr was in the drive thru... "I just got your message was just about to call you". yeah whatever.
mentioned the 10-30, he said not a problem asked if i still had the loaner... im like " i never got a loaner" anyways he arranged for a rental and said he would redo the job tomorrow with 5-30. we both agreed it was probably a mistake with the parts dept billing however being the customer 10-30 is in black and white. so they either need to redo the job and reprint the service ticket or just reprint the service ticket and lie to me.
since this was my first service visit 1300 miles, i happened to run into the used car mgr and explained i was less then impressed with the service dept. he spoke with the service mgr and wanted to try and give me a warm fuzzy. he said the oil change would be no charge and he would cut a check for the cost. to me its not about money (which i stated) it was quality service from a quality dealership.
now for those skeptics out there... I live in the NE quadrant of the US and know that standard dino oil will get thicker and thicker the colder it gets. if it was at 10k miles id just toss in mobile-1. damn when its all said and done I've made 5 trips to dealership and spent roughly 90 minutes (not counting drive time).

** real men change their oil ** /me puts on his pants at 5k miles
