G35 coupe 6MT vs 1986 Trans Am
Yeah, I'm guessing that he has the 305 cubic inch? Not much of a player on horsepower, but if it's in that bad of shape, I still wouldn't do pinks. You'd end up with a '86 Trans-Am that nobody would trade for a roll of bathroom tissue.
If you decide to, show him the crosswalk.

You'll beat him for sure. I believe that 1986 Trans Am weights 3200 lbs (prolly full strong metal body) and the engine HP is 180. So, you'll beat him by..... let's say 20 cars ahead?

If it is stock, you'll crush him. The 1986 T/A had a 205hp 305 CID (5.0L) engine.
However, if he's modded, you need to find out what he has under the hood first, because just about any GM V-8 can fit under the hood of an '86 T/A. The mod potential of a 350 small block V-8 is practically unlimited. Don't be fooled by its ratty condition - I've seen some really horrible looking condition cars that had mint new worked motors in them that were extremely fast.
I worked with someone years ago who had an '84 Formula, and he transplanted an old carbureted 327 from a '67 Corvette into it, with a Turbo 400 tranny with a shift kit, and that thing would beat a G35C for sure.
The 305 was kind of a weak motor in the power dept. But give me a 350, and for the cost of a NISMO exhaust system I could mod it to a level that it would easily smoke a G35C.

Why on earth would you ever race for pink slips? This isn't a movie here, you're talking about a car you paid >35K to drive. Race him all you want (agree with the no street racing comment), but for God's sake don't put your car on the line for it.
