how's the gearbox? (obviously better than a full size truck's )

are you from maryland? what part? i grew up in columbia, md... now living in the midwest... again, awesome car!

I think the gears are very smooth...the gates seem to be right were I need them. I have a little over 900 miles now and I'm starting to open her up now. As soon as the track opens I'll be posting some times for everyone. Yes I'm in MD...I live in Odenton which is right down the road from Columbia. How long have you been out west? Things have changed here a LOT.

i got brilliant silver/ stone interior. my 03 5at was bs and i always liked that color the best. however, when i was at the dealer to pick up my car, i saw the lakeshore slate coupe in the front and liked it a lot. bs is still my favorite though.

that's good to hear... so no significant "catching" or "grinding" between 1st and 2nd gear?

i've been living in central illinois for the past four years... my wife and i still have family out east so we make it out there a couple times a year...

have fun with your new car... great looking ride...

I haven't ground or even skipped a gear yet. No stalling either. I do think the pedals are very close together though(maybe it's my shoes). When I'm driving to work in the morning I find it very easy to heel-toe the brake and gas pedal with very little movment in my foot.
