Loud exhaust pop

Hello, I just bought my 2004 G35 coupe MT with about 70,000 miles on it about a month ago. Lately I have been hearing my exhaust pop really loudly. I know that the exhaust will pop when cooling off but mine also does it when the car is running at a stop. It's really loud (louder than normal cooling sound) and kind of concerning. I have read that it could be an exhaust leak but I'm not sure. PLEASE HELP! The only reason that I am concerned is because it also does it while running. Thanks.

i dont think its the exhaust popping..lol
it may be the heat shields around the cats. they get rusted and corroded
remove them and the pinging should go as well

Is it dangerious to just keep it off if I were to take it off? Or do I have to go to infiniti and have them replace it?

It's not dangerous. I'm sure Infiniti would most likely only try to sell you the entire thing, cats included.
Look at them-are they all corroded and rusted? Mine were really bad
