Basically paying $1175 over dealer price..
480/month for 36 months? (with only $1800 due at delivery?)

what is the dealer's cost for this particular car?
what's the residual they quoted?
what about the money factor?

Pricing a LOADED (premium, navi, aero) '05 Coupe at Edmunds.com gives the following (will vary by region, but just a ballpark):

Invoice: 35964
MSRP: 39410
For argument, let's take 35964 (dealer invoice) + 1175 = 37139 (round down to 37100)

So, making some conservative assumptions:
37100 + 5% sales tax (1855) = 38955
38955 + title, registration, other (550) = 39505
39505 - down payment (1800) = 37705

Additionally, assume the following:
57% residual (optimistic in some markets) after 36 months = 21147
0.0020 money factor (equivalent to 5% APR)
12K miles/year allowance
security deposit waived for excellent credit

When I crunch these numbers, I come up with a monthly payment of around $563... A higher sales tax, lower residual, higher money factor (probable in many markets) would make this figure even higher...

could you please educate me as to how your dealer came up with $480/month?

Not sure.. But what I will do is look at the dealer worksheet tomorrow..(it's in my office). Call up the dealership with your post in front of me and my worksheet in hand and have him go over the numbers with me in detail and try to answer your question with the actual dealer #'s..

also if your interested this deal was offered on the other G35 forums and would sell it for 1075 over invoice for anyone who needed it shipped.. location is in Long Island, NY but if you need it shipped to a dealer close to you then he would take the delivery charges off the amount over and charge it for shipping.. it was something like 1075+100 if delivered and 1175 if picked up at his dealership.. Millenium Infiniti ask for Yurie..

5k down 250 a month, I have a sedan x fully loaded, minus nav. Bought it for 30,900, msrp was 36,900. The more you put down up front, the better negotiating power you have.... 1k down, you don't have much of a say. 5k down, you can pretty much tell them what payment YOU want.

Won't make any difference....the money factor at its lowest right now is around .002xx which is right around 5%, you could have a 900 and still get that rate for a lease.

Also, a fee called "disposition fee" will be added to from the bank usually around $400, so you have to add that in.

This is a decent price....as long as you don't mind waiting a few months for one, the manager told me back in december that they will be selling the 6mt's at msrp for the first couple of months and that i could get mine in April. I agreed and waited a month, then realized i could have one now and cheaper, so I bought elsewhere.
