3M Headlight Restoration
3M Headlight Restoration
Bought this kit at Harbor Freight for 20 bucks. Girlfriend was out of town, so I had some time to myself, lol. Here are the results after doing it for the first time ever. Took me about 3 hours, but mostly cause my drill died during it. Highly recommend a long lasting battery or corded drill. Turning the lights on during the process and wiping it down with Windex prior to finishing will give you an idea how it will turn out. I can still see a few minor flaws at night with the lights on, but it's 1000% times better then ugly yellow or messed up lights.
First pic is left headlight before I started.
Second pic is after using 500 grit
Thrid pic is after using 800 grit
Fourth pic is using 3000 grit and the rubbing compound.
Last pic is the right headlight, which I finished earlier.
Very happy with the results.

I don't know of anything that 3M makes that isn't the very best from their tape, double sided adhesive to their headlight restoration kits! Nice thread, thanks for sharing...Gary
Yea, it was definitely a great product. I just ordered some Blue Batmobile overlays light tint to put over them. Hopefully, that will help prevent oxidation from occurring again.
Nice! I also just did my headlights this weekend and used the Turtle Wax kit. It's like $7 and comes with compound, cleaner, sandpaper and clear coat sealer. 3rd different car I've used it on and made each one look like new!
