All opinions welcomed!

To start things off I bought a one owner 06 g35 coupe last year and I have 2yrs left till it's payed off. I've done your typical breather mods. Now I like to buy and self install the air Suspension, e-level made by Accuair. I'm not your typical g35 owner I live in the boonies and the road leading to my house is a nightmare and I'm tired of these damn rocks hiting the undercarriage. I plan to keep the car , it has only 129k but is the car monetarily worth keeping and installing this Accuair system?

Not entirely sure what you are asking. You want to install an airbag system to raise your car due to horrible roads near your house? Bags may not be the best idea for you, if you live in an area where lots of rocks get thrown up, you run a high risk of damagings the bags. Install is pretty easy but leaks are common and usually a pain to track down. You have to be willing to keep up with all the maintenance yourself. Are you currently lowered? The bags will only provide 1-2 inches of additional height. So if you are bottoming out, it probably wont make much difference. Plus if you pop a bag, youre screwed.

The logical choice for somoene in your situation is to trade your G35 for a vehicle better suited to where you live. You car is currently worth abotu 15k, I think the accuair runs about 3k, that is 20% of your cars value. If it is worth it or not, really depends on you. Financially, mods are never worth it, you always loose money you invest. Emotional satisfaction and gain is hard to put a dollar figure on and really is a personal choice.

If I were in your shoes, personally I would sell the G35 and get a Jeep. Still an amazing fun vehcile to drive, and reevalue a G later when living arrangments change.

Lol damn how did you know I wanted a jeep too! Not lowered ride hight is all stock. I not bottoming out either. It's fine with one person in the car but two is sketchy as hell. I want that low aggressive look for paved roads.

I traded my G37 for a Jeep Wrangler and absoultly best decision ever. So much more fun to drive and more useful. The Jeep community is amazing too.

Truth be told, there is only so much fun that can be had on a road. Especially if you live kind of in the boonies, a Jeep would be a blast to own. They also keep their value MUCH better than the G. My personal example. 2009 I bought my G37 used for 32.5k (40k sticker new), then traded it in 2 years later for 20k (22k miles) perfect condition, not a single rock chip. In 2011 I bought a new Wrangler for 28k, 3 years later I traded it in for 20k (40k miles), pretty well beaten on. All fenders had decent amount of tree pinstriping. Also Jeep has cheaper insurance, cheaper gas, and cheaper maintenance.

Question for ya as a jeep owner
Been in a bunch of stock wranglers
Am I crazy or or is there a chit ton of road noise and drone? It was almost overbearing to an extent. This was under normal city driving

Yes there is a fair amount of road noice with a soft top. Owners get use to it and tune it out. But if you get a 3 piece hard top it is not nearly as bad. One of the first mods I did was replace the speakers in the sound bar and tombstones, then cover hard top in a sound insulation liner. Compared to a G35/G37 with an exhaust, it is MUCH quieter.

My wife greatly perfered the the quiet ride of my Jeep over my G37 with Tanabe exhaust, in pretty much every other aspect as well.

That is a whole other option.

Rather than spend 3k on a airbag kit, OP could always spend 5-6k and buy a used TJ. Best part about buying a TJ for 5k, you can drive it for 3-4 years and then sell it for 5k. The 4.0L in the TJ easily runs for 300k miles. Wranglers dont really even get counted as high milage until they hit 175k. My father-in-law owns a 92 YJ with 260k miles, every single one of his kids learned to drive on it, beat it to hell and it is still going.

Oringally I suggested a new JK, because they have all the modern conviences like a G. Navi, bluetooth, XM, back up camera, voice control, quiet ride, heated seats, steeringwheel controls, ect. Going from my G37 to a JK, I didnt have to give up anything at all. They even make electric convertible soft tops now for the lazy.

BTW you guys have completely derailed a thread.

I had no idea that bags are so prone to leaks. I've been in commercial trucking industry since 2001 and quite familiar with air suspensions that all trucks and most trailers equipped with. Considering amount of miles those rigs put on every year, their air systems are quite reliable and very easy to diagnose and locate the problem. I imagined that similar air systems on cars are just as reliable. I'm surprised to hear otherwise.

I'm on my 3rd XJ. First one I had was 99 with 3 inch lift kit. Picked it up for $2500, drove it for about 6 months, washed it, sold it for 3k. Picked up 96 with 6 inch lift kit for $1400. Drove it for about a year, washed it, sold it for $1700. Now I'm on a 3rd one. Have not washed it yet!

This is my second one

My dad had a 95 yj with the. 2.4l lifted with a spd and a set of 33x12.50x15 on stock gears. 4gear do 55 was all the Nash could do but that bich would go anywhere you wanted to.
