mrev2 + 5/16 spacer for non rev up engine?

I have a 2006 g35 coupe 5AT. I assume this is the non rev up engine. I am definitely going to acquire the 5/16 spacer, but I was curious is the mrev2 manifold also an option for me to use on my engine with the spacer too?

Just go with the spacer. The mrev2 is just a lightly modified non rev up lower plenum

Yeah, no. You'd just be wasting $500.

Agreed. From what I've read on here so far. Most people go for the Osiris/Uprev upgrade. It's a heft sum of $500-$600 but it's supposedly the best way to go for the money. If it was me, I'd do all all the breather mods, intake, exhaust, then the plenum spacer. (any other car it'd be BBTB) and go from there. Either way that'd be a great start. The Uprev, from what I gathered, helps to get the full potential of all the mods done. I guess that'd be the next step?

Correct ^ once you include all the breather mods the Osiris tune is required because you'll be running lean, throwing error codes. And yes, the tune is worth the $$ considering the results...Gary

See that's where I'm curious, not to thread jack, but I'm running lean at idle 17.6 AFR and can't figure out why given that I just did the damn plugs. Seriously considering the Uprev as a serious consideration, however at $600 for the damn plug in...it seems steep. That's just my $0.02

I don't believe you are running 17s. 17 would throw a code. Clean your O2 sensors and their bungs.

The extra tuner level kit brings up the price but you get so much more variability on your own with your car. be careful and never touch rpm range though.

Best $600 you'll ever spend on modding tho. I haven't gotten a tune yet, but I've been researching a lot and the general consensus is that there's no mod that makes a bigger difference in HP, economy and driveability. Cures all kinds of ailments and uses all your other mods to their full potential.

Hell, I even hear that tuning a stock car even helps a ton cuz its tuned to your driving style rather than the one size fits all, generic, ultra safe stock tune.

Ok next question... after all my breather mods.... so I go for the Osiris update... would a dyno tune accomplish the same task? cuz I'm pretty clueless as far as tuning it on my own..

Yes, but its much more expensive to rent dyno time.

X2 to that. Dyno time prices vary by the shop. I've seen it as low as $100/hr and as high as $250/hr

By Osiris tune I should have used the word dyno, that's the only way to reach your cars potential and the only time you should be charged $600! This way you get a printout of your base whp and torque along with the amazing results of the dyno tune...Gary

So in short...you'll spend closer to $1,000 when all is said and done with the Osiris software + dyno time. My wallet hurts just from thinking about it.

It's like you try hard to make the care more powerful by doing breather mods, but then there's the catch that you have to tune it to prevent the motor from destroying itself. It's almost like a deterrent from modding lol.

A dyno tune for an N/A car should not be anywhere near $1K. And the motor will not destroy itself without a tune.
