Offsets to order --need your help
Offsets to order --need your help
I know it is in the forum somewhere and I cannot find it. If I am filling out wheel wells with 275/40/17 and 245/45/17 and do not want to stick out benond bodywork, what offset should I go with? Would you go with 8 or 9 inch wide for front, and I thbelieve I need ten inch wide in the rear. Looking for alot of lip here and dark center for DG coupe.
I am obliged and beholden for any helo here.

Re: Offsets to order --need your help
I know everyone has been asking what offset will fit, look good and not rub, etc, etc. Well here is some info:
Stock offset is:
17's 30mm (f) 33mm (r)
18's 30mm (f) 30mm(r)
The Infiniti Nismo wheels are:
18x8.5, 25mm (f)
18x9.5, 30mm (r)
I have personally installed on my coupe (non Brembo):
18x8, 40mm (f)
18x9, 40mm (r)
This combo tends to fill out the wheel wells more than stock, but still leaves the wheels too much inside the wheel wells and looks too factory, only comes out about 1/4" more than stock.
I then added 8mm spacers which made the effective offset 32mm. This helped alot to fill out the wheel wells more, but still not enough. Comes out about 5/8" more than stock.
I have installed new wheels:
18x8, 20mm (f)
18x9, 25mm (r)
This set up looks JUST right. Brings the tire/wheel combo out more flush w/ lip of fender, BUT still inside. In other words, it doesn't look ghetto ish.
Tires:
Tires used on the 40mm offset wheels were:
Nitto 245/40X18 (f), 275/40X18.
I didn't like the look of the rear tires on 9" wheels. The side wall looked too high and too rounded. Kinda like a "too big of a tire on a too small rim". It also looked way different than the fronts. The fronts looked perfect.
On the new 25mm offset wheels I went with a 275/35X18 tire. That tire now looks perfect. Yes it IS slightly a smaller dia. but it now looks like it belongs.

In your bag of goodies, you wouldn't happen to know the stock offsets on the Sedan's 17" rims, would you?
