Ive searched all over but my problem is different.

Changed motor about 6 mos ago did reset and all was fine, until about a month ago.

The window started going up and dropping back down like the pinch point problem, but I ignored it because I don't use the auto up function very much. yesterday I put my window down with no problem but when I went to put it up nothing happen but you can hear the motor spinning. I had to pull the window up by hand while holding the up button. if I don't hold the up button I cannot pull the window up by hand.

could my window some how jumped off track?

is my regulator shot?

need some insight

Thx!

I'm thinking it just jumped off track :/. If it's whirring it's working fine. Check the nuts holding on the window are tight.

I would check the bolts for the regualtor. Those seem to come loose because when I took my door panel off I could spin the bolts by hand.

I posted a picture of the FSM for the window. Check this thread:

Pulled my panel and the motor screws were loose but once I tightened them it didn't solve my problem. but looking at the cable that raises and lowers the window, they looked rusted a little so I hit them with some wd 40 and still nothing.

Could the gears in the motor sheared the teeth some how? or the regulator is shot?

I may have to go to the dealer if no one finds a solution.

Unless the cables are frayed there really isnt a need to replace the regulator but I guess if cables are rusty it may cause issues. Apply white grease to the areas outlined in the FSM in my previous link. WD40 won't cut it. If the white grease fails id go ahead and replace the regulator. You can buy them new for about 98$ here: orderinfinitiparts.com.

I don't think its the regulator any more, one thing I found was once I pulled the window up and shut the door its like the auto down/up function kept cycling so I had to remove the window controller to stop it. Very strange I think I may have to go to the stealership.

Do you guys think that the Nissan dealer can handle this problem or should I go to infiniti?

I'd try Nissan first to save a few bucks. Wonder if the button in the door frame is causing an issue.

You could also go online to eBay, they sell used window track/cabling assemblies for less $$$. I've purchased my rebuilt window motors from ebay, both windows are working like a charm. This ebayer uses a more resilient motor brush that lasts a lot longer than the factory OEM motor brush.

Ok, it was the motor. Got the lifetime warranty so the replacement was free. The gears in those reman motors must be made of plastic because the old motor was still working/turning just not moving the window hence it would come down but not up.

One thing about this new motor, the reset button does not line up with the center of the cutout, it is almost to the edge. reset went fine but the auto roll down for opening/closing the door comes down almost an inch but it does close tight. It sounds stronger almost like my pass window, which is the oem motor from factory.

What do you guys think?

The motor is from autozone.
