Sales Down....
Sales Down....
So I was checking out the sales figures for Infiniti today and noticed something interesting. Since April of last year the Coupe sales have been going down every month compared to the previous year. I don't understand this as I think the Coupe is a great car. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Some guesses - initial excitement wore off in second model year, perhaps, especially with the expectation of slight changes for '05? Still, hard to say, exactly, as lots of factors could have come into play...economy, competition, incentives, etc.
perhaps this is why... please correct me for my in-acurate comments...
2003 first year release prone to bugs
2004 2nd year alot of bugs fixed
2005 improvements as you know
2006 redesign ? or a few more improvements, if i were them id toss on a few more ponies and gadgets.
2007 redesign if didnt occur in 2006
granted i did purchase a 2005 in dec 2004, if I was in the market to purchase a G35 since release date, id prob pick the 2nd year of release.

How bout this...... INCREASED COMPETION
Actually the Acura CL saw decreased sales for each of the last 4 years or so and bam! they discontinued the coupes....they said most likely more people prefer sedans to coupes for the extra doors.........factor in now that the '05 sedan's have the same hp and torque as the coupes and voila!

and some dealers still want close to MSRP for the coupe 6MTs (so. cal). show 'em the numbers and get a lower price.

The dealers here in Vegas are posting a $3995 "Fair Market" premium on the coupes. $4k over MSRP? It took me threatening to walk out twice to get them to remove the premium and give me the price that I was willing to pay. I'm sure that there are stupid enough people here in town that pay at least part of the premium. What a load of crap!

Dont forget this is still one of those coupes are sitll made 100% percent in Japan. This is barely any left these days.
Not sayin this is anythin to do of loss of sales, just another good reason to buy the car
