Z Tube vs High Flow Intake Z Tube
Z Tube vs High Flow Intake Z Tube
I have a 2006 G35 Coupe with a K&N Air Filter. I was wondering if it is necessary to buy the high flow intake kit with the z tube, or if I can just buy the Z tube. I see both of them on Stillen and there is a major price difference. Will the high flow intake act a lot more different than the base z tube. I am just trying to get some extra power and this is my first post so let me know. Thank you guys!
Welcome to the forum, there are a lot of posts about intakes. I have a Stillen intake kit, I think it makes the intake sound better but added power is debatable.
If I had to do it all over again, I would do a drop in filter & a ztube.

Screw K&N oiled air filters. I had one on my car that I switched to after my 2nd oil change. My oil got so dirty so fast after switching to that and I was seeing small dusty buildup on the clean side of the intake pipe that I switched to a different filter. I now use an Amsoil EA Nanofiber air filter and no longer have any issues. I'm not sure of Amsoil still makes these filters for our car, but if they do, I'd recommend using that over the K&N drop-in filters. Plus... the Amsoil is a dry filter so you don't have to worry about potentially contaminating your MAF sensor with a chemical.
