Why is not having a sunroof desirable to enthusiasts?

I read a few of you commenting that the lack of a sunroof is preferable. It's subjective, I know, but I was wondering if it's just the relative rarity, or if there's a technical reason like reduced body flex, etc. Thanks!

It was cheaper to manufacture. Stop, you have a unique G!

Not mine. I'm still shopping & haven't found the right one yet...

One of the main reasons I bought SLICK was because she had a sunroof! My previous car was a '92 Nissan 300ZXTT with t-tops and would have bought another Z but they quit building them with any type of sunroof/t-top! When driving in the rain we can't roll down our windows but you can crack your sunroof to get fresh air and not get soaked.

Weight savings (60-70 lbs) and gained head room.

Nice! Former '94 TT Z32 owner here also :)

Yeah, I'm kinda partial to the sunroof... Get claustrophobic with no holes in the roof, haha.

im pulling mine off as well. i think im going to add a cap weld a brace in and a non sunroof headliner.

i hate sunroofs.

Everyone has their preferences.. I prefer hard top because I feel the sunroof ruins the whole 'sports car' look and makes it look like more a altima/lexus with unnecessary luxury bells & whistles

Might also be preferred because its abit rare aswell, all G's I see have sunroofs.. so its meh.

I remember honda guys going crazy for civics with sunroof because 80% of them don't have them,
same logic here

If you wear a helmet on the track, it's a bit tight for the tall folks.
