Windshield wipers problem

I've searched but I can't find anyone with the same problem. It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes when I use my wipers they end up moving really slow and sometimes stop moving at all unless I switch them to the fastest setting. I don't know if I need new motors or what. It's just weird that it doesn't happen all the time. It almost chooses when it wants to screw up.

If they are acting erratic the gears (in assuming this is how they work) are caked with some type of grease or grime like the door motors. Consider cleaning them.. Can anyone else chime in? (Far from a computer to check FSM lol.

http://psedog.com/cars/fsm/g35/coupe/2006/ww.pdf#page4 Here is the read on it... There are many tests you can do but I would check general motor condition.
