Speedometer not working 4 codes P0500,P1212,P0550,U1001 WHERE DO I START!!!

2006 G35 coupe 6mt with 104,xxx miles

My mph on my dash is pegged at 0 but my rpm is working. My mileage isn't recording and is just staying at where it left off! I pulled my scanner up to the car and 4 codes are on which are P0500,P1212,P0550,U1001 I've been reading several forms on these codes but each one is giving me different answers I know it might be the speed sensor but which one and just replacing it would clear all these codes? If any one has any answers for what it might be please help!! Thanks

well .. um ..

since it mentions a can bus, and a bunch of other things. you will hate me but go to the dealership. this could be the ECU iteslf, the harness leading to the ECU or the harness for the can bus.

all are spendy and hard to diagnose. so rather than you replace random parts (i start with the bus) you can have someone else wrestle the electricity monster that could be a break in single wire, to a bad ground "somewhere" ...

According to AllDataDIY the priority to troubleshoot begins with: U1001, P0500, P0550, and P1212. The U codes usually means either ECM or another module are not communicating with each other properly.

Can you use your scanner to check the speed of the vehicle while driving? Can your Snap-On connect to the actual ABS unit and read information? It could be a bad ABS unit that is causing your issue. It looks like all those codes can be related except the power steering pump sensor. If the ECM can't connect to the ABS unit (Where U10001 comes to play) it probably can't read the wheel sensors either or vice versa if a sensor is bad. But, I do know the U codes are pretty bad to get.

Also, check your fuses on the IPDM and under the driver kick panel.

I had a problem similar to this on my Volvo I fixed for my sister. The speedometer, cruise control, and STC/TRAKS (VDC Eqv.) all stopped working. It ended up being an ABS control unit module, which was known to fail on these cars. Replaced that and everything started working fine again.

Bump!!

Cleared all my codes and it seems like the only 2 codes remaining are u1001 and p0500, checked all my connections and my harness, replaced the abs module and did nothing!! I just want to figure out where should I start in this situation since the computer cannot read the abs module, I went through the entire harness leading from the abs module to the PDMS and found nothing!! If anyone figures out anything let me know thank you!!
