Lookng for some personal opinions - rear body change *pics incl**

Hey everyone,

I'm bring my car in to the shop to get my front bumper repaired and mirrors repainted, but I want to make some changes to the rear. I've always hated the way it looks with the all black, and I want to give it a more clean look.

You can't see the front, but it's got a carbon fiber hood. Black roof, black mirrors.

I want to keep the little wing on the top of the trunk black but change the rest. I also don't like the shaved look in the back so I want to put the chrome Infiniti emblem back in the center.

In regards to the rear.

1. Paint the entire trunk and rear spoiler all pearl white
2. Paint the trunk white and keep the spoiler black
3. Paint JUST the back part of the trunk white and keep the rest black (top portion of trunk and wing)

I don't think 2 will look good but 1 and 3 may. If anyone has any other ideas out of the 3, would love to hear it. I definitely want the back part of the trunk white though.

Pics attached.

Thanks all

I gotta vote for number 1 but I have a better go to our Marketplace under vendor exterior and check out the duck bill c/f trunk lids from R1. Also look at their rear bumpers, reason being that rear difuser looks like a pimple on a pretty girls azz...doesn't blend in and looks "Stuck On!" I have a OE rear bumper with a difuser I'm trading in for a new rear bumper next Tuesday for the same reason...Gary

i vote: fix your front end or whatever, and just take the blackout from the tailights. i personally like the flow you got with the black top to the trunk.

Yeah I agree with Gary, your rear bumper kinda does look out of place, maybe a kenstyle rear would be nice, and personally the trunk looks nice with the roof. Do you have a cf or black hood as well? Imo get the tail lights to a lighter tint to something in between like a smoke so your trunk pops out more

Thanks everyone, appreciate the feedback.

I'm leaning towards number 1, paint the trunk and wing white, keep the roof, roof wing, mirrors black. My hood is CF.

I'm not a fan of the cb trunk and I looked up the ken bumper, not a fan. I haven't shopped around for bumpers, was going to keep the one I have on and shave the ugly corners off it and make it smooth and cleaner.

Good idea about the tailights, I'm going to get rid of those tints. The headlights are tinted too (from previous owner) but it was done on the outer lense which looks horrible. That's on my list to.

The sides are Saronas, I tried getting those side skirts remounted many times but they just don't align properly, the lines don't match up with the body and it leaves a gap. I might as well rip them out while I'm at it and replace them.

I vote #1, and lose the taillight tint. It just looks like your taillights are dirty. On white cars, I think nice shiny clear red lights looks clean.

id get rid of the wing and or get a new trunk / rear bumper.

it looks really mismatched... even if painted right... but as they say its your car do you.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the feedback

Going with #1, will have to add white to the mirrors also bc from a side view it will flow better, imo.

I say go with option one and see how the tinted lights look after that. I think it might look good after the trunk/spoiler paintjob.

I can post pics of mine after work if you want. I am DG but black hood, roof and trunk. Spoiler is still DG

I am going to paint my side mirror triangle piece to match the DG and am considering doing the mirror piece itself black as well to match the hood, roof, trunk. The triangle mounts are faded chaulky black and my driver side mirror is faded as well..i think it was replaced at one point.
