Keyfob dead, how to start car with dead fob

Hello,

is there a way to start my 2007 G35 Coupe with a dead fob? Tried to search and everything i find points to the sedan. Nothing about the coupe. Thanks!

If it doesn't have a button that says "Start" you could use the key to start like the rest of us! Keybob isn't working, your local auto parts store should carry batterys that will get it working again...Gary

If you have the intelligent key, there is a small release button. Push it down and a key will pull out, use the key in your ignition to start it.

I believe he straight edge of the key goes up. That should take care of you until you get a new battery. The size is 2025....just replaced both of mine a week or so ago.

Ok, thanks for that bit of obvious information. I'm overseas and my wife is having the issue with the car so im not home to diagnose this.

Anyway....key inserted and no go. Key light flashes red on dash. Tells me the key is cut but not programmed. Will replace battery in FOB tomorrow when she can.

Apparently the valet key your are mentioning doesnt start the car. It just allows you to get into the car and the glove box. Probably a ebay key that wasnt programmed. Will replace FOB battery and get it started.

It isn't a valet key, but you are correct, there is a chip in that key that has to be programmed to enable it to start your car.

I purchased a 2nd fob from a locksmith so I would have 2. They programmed the fob & not the chip so it wouldn't start the car....wish I had tested it before I got home....could have saved me a trip.

Good luck.
