Ordered my MREV2 and 5/16th Spacer - Question

So I ordered my MREV2 and 5/16th spacer from motordyne. The plenum is on sale for $430 on thenismoshop.com by the way. But my question is if there's any way to tell a stock revup plenum from the MREV2 while its on the car. I ask because the previous owner did some modifications to the car and in some of the Infiniti service notes one of the techs mentions that the car had an intake spacer on it. Now, I can clearly see that the spacer is no longer on the car, but I don't know how to tell if the MREV2 could still be on the car. (Assuming it ever was) Now I figure the odds of the guy taking the spacer off but leaving the 500 dollar manifold on there are pretty slim. And again, I don't have any evidence that the manifold was ever on the car other than the fact that I know there was at one point a spacer on the car. Can anyone help me out with this?

It's an 06 coupe.

Threads without pics are boring:

You would have to at least take off the upper plenum to find out.

Take it off and email pictures of the lower plenum to tony at MD he will know in 2 sec if it's a stock lower or his mrev2

Also is your rear bumper a different shade than the rest of the car?

As Shane mentioned, you'll need to open the manifold to look. Unless you have one of those flexible spy cameras and slide it in through the throttle body to take a peek.

you will be able to tell instantly by the length of the runners after you crack open the top plenum though

Post pictures of your engine bay specifically a close up of the side of the plenum. If you notice that the lower plenum is clearly cleaner, shinier than the upper and they both don't match than most likely its an mrev.

Hey, thanks for the responses everyone but I solved the mystery. The car has the OEM revup on it, so I'm happy I didn't just waste a bunch of money. I don't want to leave this as a useless thread so here's how I told them apart.

If you see that little tab I circled in red, it's clearly visible on the driver's side of the plenum once you take the plastic engine cover off. If it has it, it's the revup, if not, it's the non-rev.

Edit: Forgot to note, stock revup is on the right and the stock non-rev is on the left.

Mrev2

I'm a little confused by the pic. You mentioned circled tabs in red......looks like both pics have some kind of tab circled in red.

I have (2) 05 6MT cars......a coupe (my current driver/project), and a sedan that was totaled on the rear. I bought the sedan with mods on it already. It has/had the plenum spacer on it already, I haven't determined what size this spacer is just yet, but this is definitely a Rev-up sedan.

Here is where I get confused. The lower manifold is like the one on the left side of the pic above. Doesn't a Rev-up car come with a different lower manifold stock? As in different from an AT car?

Is the MREV2 manifold lower, different from the Rev-up lower.....if so how?

Everything I've read, is steering me to an MREV2 lower and a 5/16 plenum spacer......and unless I have some better option for my N/A coupe, I will continue down that road.

I guess my biggest angst here......is I continually see conflicting pics of stock, MREV2, and Rev-up lower intake manifolds.

Can someone with some SOLID KNOWLEDGE please clear this up for me once and for all?

Thanks in advance........

Motordyne's website shows a pic of the lower in the pic above on the LEFT as an MREV2

as shown in the pics you can easily tell if you have a rev up versus non-rev plenum. But it is not easy to indentify if you have a motordyne MREV2 plenum. For identificiation, you will need to send pics to Tony @ Motordyne for confirmation.

the pics on the site are for illustration purposes only. Motordyne has specific identifying features that only they are aware of.

If your not posting pics of the actual product your selling......then your marketing, is an epic fail
