HID Replacement Bulbs

I'm looking for a pair of D2R/D2S for my new G35 6MT.
After searching, I found out that Global Premier has the cheapest HID blubs. However, they seems to be "too cheap", so I want to make sure they are good for my baby and they have long lives. Does anyone have any experience of having the Global Premier HID Replacement Bulbs on your G35? How are they and how many k's do you have?

Thanks.

Not sure that too many of us have changed the HID bulbs. I have attempted to match the high/fog to HID but haven't messed with the HID. I (JMO) don't see the need to. I think the high beams suck though regardless of what bulb you put in there. I opted for Sylvania Silverstars but they match in color but light output is so-so.

Listen man, do yourself a favor and if your going to change them, go nothing above 6k and possibly go for the Phillips Ultinon bulbs... I bought my 8000k's and they are pretty bad man!

One more question, how bad if I change them to a pair of D2S 6000K? I don't want to be a devil on the road and I want my lights brighter beacsue they are so weak now. So does anyone have any experience of putting D2S on your G35?

read the threads in the lighting forum.

6000k will actually be less lumens output than the stock hids.

Global Premier: I haven't bought HID bulbs from them but I have bought a series of halogen bulbs from them over the years. Earliest 1996, & I still have those bulbs today.

No problems here.

Lightbulb

Please use the following as your guide:

BEST
Brightest, most performing light for the road = Philips 4100k or Osram 4300k

(Price $50-$70 pair)

BETTER
Lose maximum visibility for a little color (shade) = Philips 5000k or Osram 5400k

(Price $60-$100 pair)

GOOD
Sacrifice performance for color. Not recommended in the long run. = Philips Ultinon 6000k

(Price $90 - $200 pair)

The higher the Kelvin rating, the more colorful it is, but the less lumens(visible light) you get. I wouldn't recommend anything over 8000K, but 6000K is what I would preffer, you get a good amount of both looks and you can still see.

You can "swear" all you want, but it's not going to be brighter.

Again your eyes are mixing sensitivity with output.

Auto-lamps are very expensive compared to E-bay, Illusion Light or HID Planet.
All those bulbs on that site are not OEM. For instance; Philips 6000k is illegal to use in the United States. Philips 5000k does not come in the vehicle when manufactured. Instead it's used as a replacement from the dealership to a color shifted (aged) HID bulb for cars equipped with HID. This is so it could match the color and age for the existing stock 4100k HID bulb.

Really? I didn't know they were more expensive. You learn something new everday. And yeah, I know the the 6000k and 5000k don't come on any car from the factory. When I said all OEM, I meant they are manufactured by the same companies that make our 4100-4300k bulbs.

Anyway, thanks for the update.
