New here... considering a G35 Coupe

I've been over at my350z.com for a while looking discussing those and I really like them, but I've come to grips with the fact that I need a back seat.
This would be a daily driver, 3rd car for me, so I can sacrifice some sportiness, but not much. I love sports cars!

One other thing that's keeping me from the Z is the tire feathering issue due to front suspension toe problems. Does the G35 have that same problem?

Are there any typical, chronic problems w/ the G35 I should be aware of?

I'm in the market to buy a <10k miles '04 or '03 if the price is good.

Thanks in advance.

Well the feathering isnt really a problem and you should have even wear on your tires as long as your tire pressure is correct.

As far as "chronic" problems, are you getting an MT or an AT?

I'd say some of the rattles can be pretty bad but they can all be fixed at your dealer. As well as small problems that some have such as the window motor going out or the grease streak as well as the right side of the Bose going out on CD play, and you not being able to fill up the gas for a full tank.

Again, these are just some problems you may expect but these are just minor compared to the big smile you'll get from driving the car everyday. I know I love driving in it everytime I get in.

I've put about 10k on mine and everything is fine (2004.5 model). I've had a few TSBs fixed such as the pulling to the right, clicking axles, and noisy sunroof but everything taken care of by the dealer. The car has had no other issues and is a model of japanese realibility.

the G35 and 350Z have VERY slight differences in performance. same car IMO performance-wise, but what took me to the G35 was the nice backseat and creature comforts.

although the problems people see may seem common in the sense that the same problems pop up on the G35, but they are uncommon in the sense that not many cars experience them. am i making sense? check this site for TSBs, which pretty much sum up all the issues drivers are seeing:

AWESOME. thanks.

I think I'm leaning to the G35 for many reasons now.

It's such a very nice car!

I was in the same boat. My brother in law in Houston has the Z so I got to put it thru the paces. I too NEEDED a back seat so I went with the G and have not been disappointed! I have none of the minor problems that are common with the G. Mine has been flawless for 7500 miles.

Well, I love my G. Mine only has 1500k on it (2004.5 with 6MT), but I love it.

No problems to date.

Subjectively, I like the way it looks better than a 350Z, IMO.

Objectively (I found this interesting), my insurance company does not consider it a sports car. They consider it an entry level luxury coupe! saves on the $$$$, in my case.
Lastly, the one that did it for me was the rear view. The C pillars + the slope of the rear windshield on a Z are so bad, that the blindspot is HUGE. The rear view is MUCh improved in a G, IMO.

Coolness.
With the insurance, it's hilarious how back seats make a difference. You know my 911 Turbo is cheaper to insure than my SLK was before that? lol

Now, off to drive one. You think I can get an extended demo like over night? Has anyone had that?

My insurance company thinks my G Coupe is a sedan!

LOL!
