I bought my car a year ago in good condition for 9500. At the time KBB told me this was a fair deal. I just happened to be browsing craigslist just now and I noticed several G's were being sold at 5-6k.

I just checked KBB again and my car at 101,000 miles is only worth 7800 now

Think of it this way: buying an 03 g35 now (with respect to age of course) is like buying an 87 camaro in the year 2000. So, yeah, our cars have actually held their value quite well in comparison to others.

It really depends on the area you're looking to buy the car in. prices for G's in the bay area are pretty solid at around 8-15k depending on If you want auto or manual, and manuals are commanding a pretty decent premium over the autos for now.

Manuel revups got an even bigger premium over all other g35s these are facts.

A revup 6mt with under 100k in California can easily go for 13k

These cars are not without their problems, have they been made better with better engines that don't consume oil as they get older, they would hold their value much better.

G's drop their value dramatically after 100k on the clock.

yep, mines dropped about a grand in value, I haven't even paid a grand into it on my loan lol. forever in an upside-down loan. Same deal with my Jeep. Just when I pay it off to it's value, it plummets again.

American cars have the worse resale value. Talk about garbage

Nissan/Infiniti have the worst re-sale value when compared with Toyota and Honda, but i would still buy an Infiniti because it's a better car in my opinion.

Besides region, when sports coupes/sedans like the G35 get to this age, condition and mileage is the biggest factor for price. An 03-04 G35 in Quebec that's used as a daily has seen about 12-13 winters and 100-150K on it. Those can be had in the $5000-$6000 range but if you want a low mileage never winter driven 6mt sport those are still going for well above $10,000 here. Here are some Canadian 03-04's, low mileage coupes are $11-$12k and high mileage sedans are under $5000..

And the 05' 06' and 07" with low miles go for well above 12k. Your looking at 13-15k for a 6mt in the above years.

A more fun car anyway. Honestly I see the drop in value as a good thing because before too long we're gonna start seeing some cool builds because people just won't give a **** anymore.

I never really look at monetary value as an indication of the true intrinsic value of the car. All cars depreciate with time, mileage, and wear.

What's more important is your pride of ownership, personal mods, and maintenance that cannot be valued enough. You know, that good feeling that you're driving a beautiful car instead of a pos Miata or run-of-the-mill Honda.
