looking into a new set of cats (first post)
well here is my first post and my very first infiniti was always a bmw fan! decided to try something new. well im looking into getting a new set of catts for some better performance and i came across the megan racing downpipes for a decent price! has any body ever ran these on their cars if so how are they? also is a perfect bolt on ?
Look for some used HFC, if not test pipes are an option. I'm running some $70 eBay ones, no problems lol.

I can attest to berks just don't match them with a megan y on a rust belt car.. my midpipe flange isn't mating up perfectly so I have some unbearable drone and rasp in the car from 4.5k - 5.5k. Will get down there with a new gasket or permatex soon and hopefully resolve it.. If not a buddy of mine owns a machine shop and will grind it down.
I have a 03. i have my catback exhaust z tube and a stage 2 clutch as of rite now. I'm looking into getting the spacer and some cats before I get it tuned. The test pipes are going to be to loud for my liking I already know. Will I feel some gains with the spacer without a tune?
Check your state laws before removing factory cats in favor of HFCs!
Before everyone runs off and spends all your $$ without knowing the end results read all the stickys at the top of the coupe page! It's virtually useless to get a tune before completing a few needed modifications! High flow cats (HFC) are a great addition but not Berks since they don't honor their warranty! Fast Intentions have worked great for me in the past 5 years and I haven't polluted our air using ART pipes! Going with HFCs is great however, unless you change/upgrade your exhaust the main sound you hear will be rasp! There's so much restriction in factory cats switching to HFCs over powers the OE exhaust, it's like putting 3 lbs of dog **** in a 1 lb can...get the concept? Read the stickys, knowledge is power...Gary
