Bye to my G35, hello G37

This happened on the freeway doing 70. A tire, rim, brakes, and all hit me head on. Bounced over the median.

This is the replacement.

Thanks, it's crazy, even after owning this g37 now for about a month I still really miss the 35. It was a fantastic car.

Jesus Christ, man! That must have been scary as ****. Good thing you're ok.

I'm not a fan of the g37, but yers looks better than most. Is it the bumper? The stance? It looks more aggressive than all the ones I see on the street.

Ya, it was pretty scary. First wreck I've ever been in. I actually wasn't a huge fan of the 37 either, but I looked for 2 weeks for a cherry g35 and they are getting pretty rare in good shape. Found this one by accident. It is a 2010 g37s. It has the ipl kit on it. Then i added eibach drop coils, the midnight grill and I blacked out the inside of the headlights.

Damn, I've experienced a few similar sudden stops in my 40 years of driving and Im stoked you lived to tell the tale. As already pointed out, your replacement looks better than most! What about your former ride stands out over this one? I havent tried on a 37 and love my 35..

To be fair, the car actually drives pretty much the same. Just comes down to taste really. I love the little more squared look of the 35. The 37 is a little more round. It keeps growing on me though.

Thank you. The interior I have to say, is pretty nice. I'm not really going to do anything inside the car. The ipl kit really adds a lot. Guess what I didn't really like was the totally stock g37. I think the 35 is a better looking car in stock form.

Sorry to hear about the accident, but at least the G35 protected you from that.

Congrats on the new G37. looks clean

It'll grow on you.

I think the G37 is an overall better car and it fixed some of the issues particularly from the 03-05 models. The added bump in power is also nice.

Can you give a basic comparison of your current car with the G35? I'm looking to replace my 05 coupe in a year or so with a G37 (or M3).

The 35 was an auto, but had the sport pkg and was loaded. Had it for 4 years. The 37 is a true sport with the manual it is loaded as well. The 37 brakes better, but the handling is basically the same. Interior is far superior in my opinion. Quality the same, but the layout and look is much nicer. The factory clutch is terrible. Already put in an aftermarket clutch. Honestly, the power increase isn't that noticeable. The weight is more so power to weight is probably about the same. I'll be happy to answer any other questions you might have. I will say this one really gets the looks.

Nice on the new car.... ouch on that crash. This is the type of thing that's good to show to people so they realize why driving in the leftmost lane on the highway all the time can be dangerous.

How does the exhaust note on the new car stack up to the G35? You must be having fun with all that extra headroom in the useable RPM range?

The exhaust had to be the biggest disappointment. I loved the exhaust on the 35. Thought about changing it multiple times, but I just thought it sounded so good so why change it. 37 sounds good at cold start, but after, just too quiet. Already looking into new exhaust, just haven't decided which one to go with. Thinking about just a muffler delete until I decide on an exhaust.

THANK YOU for touching on, and being objective with the comparison in power. People always try to say it's a big bump in power, but I never understood how that could be possible; it's still 270ft/lbs of torque. I always thought it must be a placebo effect, cuz yer right, it's heavier, has the same tQ and a few more HP. It never seemed to make sense.

I guess I'll be upgrading to the 09 M3 couple in a couple of years then..if the G37 is not much more powerful than the G35.
