Cel
Cel
Hey guys,
So I just recently purchased a 2004 G35 Coupe, I haven't registered it yet because it currently has the CEL on, and I won't be able to pass the inspection with it. The code that comes up for the CEL is P0430, which if you guys don't already know is a problem with the cats. Besides getting a stock exhaust and swapping it for inspection, what would some other options be?
Thanks in advance!

You can do a Cat delete and have a tuner tune the code out of the system where it wont pop up anymore. But then again I don't know how they do inspections where you are, because I live in Tennessee and never had to have an inspection.
Depends on where you live. If your state/county does visual inspections i would either buy some legal HFC or stockers depending on the situation. But If it's only a plug in test just delete the cats and tune out the cel as previously suggested
Hmm, I'll give this a try. I asked a friend and he said deleting the code wouldn't do much as it would just re-appear, but I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks!
Thanks, the other person on this thread also suggested a cat delete. I don't know much about the inspections but I'm 90% sure we don't do visual inspections, so again I'll give this a try. Thanks!
There is a difference between clearing the codes and doing a code tune. Tuning it will basically reteach your car that, that is how it was supposed to be and it wont ever pop up the code anymore.
