Motordyne XYZ Pipe Advice

Hi G Owners,

I have 03 coupe automatic with basic mods such as intake, plenum spacer, tune, and HFC. My exhaust is completely stock besides the HFC and was thinking about getting the Motordyne XYZ pipe (exhaust Y-pipe section) with the resonators next week. This is the last modification that I will be doing to the car. I just wanted to know, would this be a worth while purchase for the money? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it would be.
This is a highly popular mod and we see sales just on this section all the time.

It depends on what kind of results you are looking for. Looking for more power, different sound? Then this is probably a waste of money unless you are planning to add an aftermarket exhaust in the future, You've already addressed the biggest obstruction in the exhaust system by adding the HFC's. The resonator on the XYZ (yes it only has one) will change the tone slightly but is it really worth $350-400 for that small difference? Only you can say.

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm probably the biggest Motordyne fanboy on here and have the prototype sedan VQ exhaust and a lot of other MD goodies on my car but I'm also practical about how I spend my money. In the end if you want the XYZ go for it as it'a a quality piece and you're supporting a great guy in Tony and a fantastic company that's been a huge asset to this forum and the Nissan/Infiniti community in general.

Thanks Blue Dream... I just wanted a little more power, sound, and to help with the slight rasp. As you stated that's not worth the money for just a slight change in tone. I will just use that money to get my spark plugs changed... Thanks once again!!!!!

It looks like I better save up for a Motordyne or Tomei exhaust, or if you know a brand that works as just as good.
