Super clean 05 G35 coupe with 80,000 miles listed for $7,500. I'd love to own it but Consumer Reports says this year had much higher than average issues with brakes and engine. I've read suspension can be problematic as well. Any owner opinions would be appreciated. Thanks. JB

6 speed G35 sedan
Oil consumption was an issue.

Is this a one owner car? Are all service records available? That can give you a clue how reliable the car has been so far. The suspension issues tend to be LCA and compression rod bushings.

You used the words, "Super Clean" that's a good thing! If it has a clear CARFAX along with maintenance records the only other thing I'd do before making the purchase is a compression test checking for oil consumption. (OC) Have you driven this G? If not, drive it for at least 7 miles to get the feel. Once around the block won't tell you anything!

Consumer reports is better suited towards helping you pick your next fridge, vs a vehicle.

I've often seen them recommend to pass on a certain year, and get a different years....even when both years are mechanically the same.

In this case, 05-07's are pretty much the same, so what does CR say about '06 and '07?
