A arm install question
A arm install question
I'm going to install my camber kit and after reading a lot of DIYs I'm a little confused as to the need to take out the front spring assembly.
Some say you need to take it out to get to the back bolts of the a arm and some say no. I saw a YouTube video where they did and where they did not.
Anyone have any experience in this?

From what I've seen it depends entirely on whether the coil interferes with removing the bolt, and you won't know until you start the project so it's best to assume the worst. I haven't seen people fully remove the front spring assembly though just loosening the 3x nuts at the top to lower it as needed for the bolts to clear between coils, I would recommend AGAINST:
-Using a spring compressor and working around the compressor
-Using a floor jack to compress the spring from the lower A-arm
for the same reason I wouldn't be putting my hands in the line of fire for any other potential energy source.

i found the easiest way is to loosen the top 3 nuts for the shock then disconnect the endlink and you will be able to move it freely without having to actually take it out. you can push it down and kinda wobble the shock around
perfect! Thanks a ton
