Replacing Y-Pipe on 2005 RWD Advice
Replacing Y-Pipe on 2005 RWD Advice
i have an exhaust leak on the drivers side flex pipe and I'm going to replace the y-pipe and am looking for advice/suggestions about what brand/specific pipe to buy.
i just purchased the car about a month ago and I've never owned Infiniti or Nissan. I have the regular G35 not the "X" and everything is stock. I'm replacing it myself.
Any and all all information is greatly appreciated.

I would recommmend you just replace the flex-pipe. It's cheaper and you will keep the original VQ sound.
However if you are wanting to replace the Y-Pipe and are on a budget I would go with a HKS Replica cat-back exhaust. If you don't like the drone. Have a muffler shop install a magnaflow x-pipe in. All of this should run you right at or around $350 or so.

Any good muffler shop can replace that flex pipe for 1/3rd the cost of a new y-pipe! I just saved you enough $$ to gas up your G sedan for a month...you're welcome!

Or this would do the trick (see link below)... This would also eliminate what is arguably the most restrictive point in the OEM exhaust system. If you retain your cats, resonator and muffler, the exhaust note shouldn't change a great deal...
