Did I install the fuel pump right?

So currently I have installed my fuel pump into the fuel assembly since my car is cranking but not starting but it does start with starting fluid. But I noticed in the fuel pump package there is more items in there but I just took the fuel pump itself with the rubber boot and the fuel sock I gotten and put it in the assembly. Now I hear it prime but still don't start so I have been wondering if I have install it right?

Ask a professional mechanic, as you failed to provide us any pictures...

Some of the aftermarket pumps are slightly bigger than the housing. The polarity might also be backwards, so make sure the connections are correct.

Make sure the hoses aren't pinched restricting fuel flow.
