Hey guys so recently I got a new clutch kit and slave cylinder installed (05 Rev up 6mt) well about 2 weeks later (today ) I was driving down the freeway when all of a sudden the abs slip and vdc lights all came on , I was still driving in 6th gear for a while until I got off the freeway . When I got off the off ramp I put the car in 1st gear and it just kept reving like I was in neutral I had to have a few helpful people push my car into a parking lot .

When i turned the car back on same thing happened and the car keeps reving like it's in neutral . If I'm in first and I let the clutch go the car does not stall or shut off . ( i push the shifter into first but almost feels like its not engaged in first) But the weird thing is the car will only turn on if I push the clutch pedal down so I assume the clutch is engaging and disengaging . Has anybody had a problem like this before please help !

 

Is the service engine light on? consider getting it read.

 

The fact that it starts when you put in the clutch doesn't mean it's actually disengaging. It just means the sensor is detecting the pedal is depressed since that sensor is all that matters for the starter to engage.

Pull your E-brake up all the way so that the car won't move at all, and then put the car in reverse and see if you can back up. If the car still revs like it's in neutral while in reverse, get out and check if the back-up lights are on (the white lights on the rear tail lights) while it's still in reverse. If those back-up lights are on, you know that your transmission is actually going into gear and the problem has to do with the clutch rather than the tranny or shifter mechanism. While you're out there, take a look under the car too and make sure the driveshaft isn't spinning. If the driveshaft is spinning then it means your rear end or cv joints are completely toasted.

My bet is it's something to do with the clutch disk or pressure plate.
