Chrome ring under auto shift **** broke

The chrome square ring that is under the automatic shift **** in my 2006 coupe broke. What's the easiest way to fix this? It looks attached to the leather boot.

Below is a pic of the chrome square ring I'm talking about, not my actual car.

It's part of the shift boot, just order a new boot. Here's an ebay example!

Easiest and cheapest would be duct tape

OP you might want to go through the forum to see who has replaced their AT shifter **** and see if they still have the ring. This would be cheaper than spending $30 for a whole new shift boot. Mine was destroyed when I put on the **** I have.
