I know we all hate having that gay seperated fob and there isn't many options, I dont like those chinese remake flip blades i like the sleek design of a single fob OEM,
On my titan I did a smiliar mod and couldnt believe I had such a hard time finding info for a mod for us.
I played around and ordered a few different keys with different FCC id's and all of the ones that I tried worked.. I didn't want to have to pay to program my keys so I took the transponder out of my key and added it into the new one.
If you want to pay to get them programmed you can buy a key that comes with a transponder and have multiple keys.
First off you need to buy a key. I buy mine from Ebay and I pay a little more for a OEM key (about $40) I bought it for a 2014 Nissan Sentra because it has the trunk option also. Remember to have your new key cut (I used walmart and they charged me $1 to cut the key)
Start off with your old key.
Then locate the transponder to remove
The little black piece inside of the green bracket IS the transponder.
Here is the front of the new key for a 2014 Nissan Sentra
And here is the back
Unscrew the small screw on the back of the new key and separate it. You can see the spot for the transponder in the top left of it. (If your new key came with a transponder just remove and replace it with the one from your single key)
Install the transponder into the holder in the top left
Put it back together and replace the screw. Then program it to your car by following these steps
1. Get into the car and close the door with all of the windows up
2. Press the lock button on the drivers door.
3. insert the key into the ignition 10+ times within 10 seconds, The hazards will flash twice.
4. Once they flash turn the vehicle into the ACC mode.
5. Once in ACC mode press a button on your new fob. The hazards will flash again to let you know it accepted it. (if you have additional remotes to program press the unlock button on the drivers door and then lock it back. at this time press a button on your 2nd key fob it will flash again letting you know it accepted)
6. After you have all the fobs programmed, turn off the car from ACC, press the drivers door unlock button and open the door.
'7. Complete (test fobs)
Enjoy your sexy new OEM key instead of the stupid separated fobs!

No one can, PB started charging a ton to let us be able to embed pictures like we used to. From what I've heard/read millions of people have gone to other hosting sites, I know I have.
Am I the only one that finds it strange someone would make a project out of modifying keys that work as intended? Remote works fine, I've replace it once since I drove SLICK off the showroom floor. Gary

I work in government and wear a suit & tie everyday. It minimizes the bulkiness of my key ring that I have to put in the pocket of my slacks. So its functional and is aesthetically pleasing.
Pretty cool info. Now if only there was an Infiniti symbol on the back of that key vs Nissan.
One of the keys I ordered was out of Tiwan because it had my exact fcc ID number on my car and they advertised the key as an Infinity key, not a Nissan. But when I got it, I seen they just pulled the OEM Nissan logo off and stuck on an Infinity logo on top of it.
If you dont buy OEM keys (the knock off versions on ebay that offer like 2 fobs for 20 bucks) they dont come with any logo on the back.

Probably less weight on the lock mechanism too like this since you don't have the other piece dangling from it and bouncing around all over the car when you whip around corners and go over bumps.
