There are two motors for that years, if you have an automatic transmission it's a VQ35DE, if it's a 6 speed manual then the motor is a VQ35DE REV UP. The wiring harness stays with the chassis it's not part of the engine assembly.

There are only VQ35DE and VQ35HR motors... no such thing as a VQ35 without one of those two denominations at the end. There are different versions of the DE though from G35's.. one that revs up higher than the other and has cam phasers both on the intake and exhaust sides. It's typically referred to a VQ35 REV motor, but that's not an official term. It was the stock motor in 05+ manual transmission g35 coupes.

Don't think there is such thing as a VQ##A. There are VQ##DE series (including T and TT versions), then HR, VHR (no T or TT option) and the latest is VQ##DD and the VR##DDTT (one bad mother F of a motor).

I've also never heard of any VQ motor referred to as VQ35A.

Ask them to tell you what exact car it was pulled from... year, make, model and auto or manual transmission. VQ35xx motors are used in a whole bunch of different Nissan and Infiniti vehicles but, as mentioned earlier, they aren't all the same.

Yeah and just because it's a VQ35DE doesn't mean it will fit either, the ones used in some other vehicles sat higher in the engine bay (transferse mounted 3.5 from altima/maxima). It needs to be from a G35/early 350Z/M35/FX35. Don't think the Pathfinder motor works either, I think it was just a transverse high deck mounted linearly.
