So just replaced my rotors and brakes, noticed that my rear tires are not the same size.. 245/45 and 245/40.... i have no alignment issues and wear on the tires is normal. Not sure how long it has been like this but i put 5k miles on the car so far (since I bought it) and have not noticed an issue...

Do i need to fix this now or can i wait till i need tires? Front tires are the right size..

One rear is 245/45/R19 and the other rear tire is 245/40/R19

That would definitely cause a problem if you have the VLSD axle, the size difference between the two is 3.6% which will be actively working the LSD and causing excess wear as well as increasing the likelihood of triggering the VDC.

Open axle it won't cause the differential wear but it could still trigger the VDC into thinking you're sliding and I would replace the wrong tire with the correct one ASAP.

Also that 245 tire is nearly an inch taller diameter and might have issues rubbing the wheel well during maximum suspension travel (if you're stock you will be fine probably), especially if you're lowered at all.

If you do have a sport model with the VLSD I would get that tire changed out TOMMOROW.

 

I have 18s but same thing. One tire is the stock size and the other is /05 difference. I will check to see which axle i have but most features on my car lead to the sport package. I have a vdc button.

 

Everyone has a Vehicle Dynamics Control button, that's not the same as a Viscous Limited Slip Differential though.

 

I figured, i have the 03 G35 base not a G35s if that is the model, either way i changed it out. Thank you.
