Help! Please Read

I just took a job that requires me to drive to Jersey City (bad area) everyday. I just got my coupe 5 weeks ago and I refuse to destroy her like that. I was thinking of buying a "beater" car for the commute & winter, but that's just not me. I am debating the fact of getting rid of my coupe. I just can't see a beauty like this going through that torture. If anyone is interested in taking over my lease drop me a line. The car has under 600 miles on it and sits under a cover everyday.

My heart is broken but it's better off...

Maybe you should find yourself a Daewoo dealership that allows offers the "buy one, get one free" deal...to have 2 sacrificial lambs, and keep the G for the weekends

Why don't you want to get a beater to drive to work? thats what I do... keeps your baby clean and low mileage for your evening and weekends, saves gas money, and your insurance will be much cheaper if your G is not your commuter vehicle. You can get a very reliable older altima or sentra for like 2 grand.

Re: Help! Please Read

I agree with most of the posts. It's ultimately your choice and by the time you read this post you would have probably already have made your decision. But heres my take. I drove through Jersey City this past Monday in my 93 shadow commuter car. I ended up driving through 5 flash floods that SUV's refused to go through. That tough little car made it through all even when 2 new vehicles got stuck. My point is that my family wanted to see the G, but I decided the weather and other factors made this a bad idea. Had I driven the G, those floods would have devastated me and the car. The daily driver dodge saves on my insurance by the multiple premium discount, saves gas by the higher mpg, saves wear and tear on the G while maintaining low miles on it, saves more on the insurance of the G by listing it as a leisure car, as well as saving my G from the unexpected such as the flash flood. I have a 88 T-Bird coupe in mint condition that constantly got keyed etc. This was in a quote good neighborhood. So the daily driver car helped avoid this too.

So think about it. There are ways around anything.

I understand your feelings and hesitation. But I gotta agree with either the premo alarm route or the beatermobile route(leaning more toward the latter). Selling the g, or worrying to death about it isn't the right thing to do.

Just think of this: how great are you gonna feel about your job if you had to sell your dream car for it? I mean, talk about a negative against your productivity!

Are you saying that you will get rid of this car for $18000? If so, I will take it off your hands and buy you a crap car to drive to jersey city!

Man,

I feel you bro.. I actually have one beater car and two toys for the weekend... My work car is a 1999 Hyundai Accent (yes, rollerskate looking piece of shiznit)... My weekend car is my G35 coupe - black - 6MT, and my weekend toy is my 2001 Kawasaki ZX-6R... I also could not stand to drive my baby to work everyday. That car is meant for full out please driving, not the bumper to bumper everyday... Especially not with the 6MT model...

Don't get rid of your car, your will regret doing it. it continuing the lease. Just buy a beat up old car from ebay or something, nothing extravegant or anything. I am considering getting an old volvo wagon to drive to school this fall. I could in noway choose upon my own freewill to get rid of my G.

Hey guys

Still here and have my G. I looking for a new job instead of commuting to Jersey City. I was also in those flash floods w/ the coupe. I have the Injen cold air intake as well. Took almost 4 hours to get fro Jersey City to Caldwell. Thanks for the concern, but I'll be around for a while.
