How do I stop the alarm from being disabled by the door lock?

Story is, my car was broken into last night and the metal valet key was stolen (among other things). While I wait for the new lock barrel, I want a way to ensure the alarm goes off anytime someone opens the door, even with a key, so the only way to disable the alarm is to use the remote.

Anyone know a way to do this easily?

Im sure theres a connector somewhere inside the door which hooks up to the keyhole sensor. Just not sure which one or where its at.

In the meantime....put a club on the steering wheel.

Or if youre handy with electronics, tap into the horn relay and wire it up so it gets activated whenever your interior lights come on.

Appreciate the reply. It turns out that it was actually a wallet key, not the valey key, so he can unlock just the doors, still sucks but at least he won't drive away with it.

I probably won't be wiring up the horn to the interior lights but thanks for the idea haha

FYI to anyone that cares, opening the door with a wallet key (or any key for that matter) will still trigger the alarm -- in my experience only the remote will disable the alarm.

That isnt the way it works on the car I just picked up. I have 2 keys and a broken (maybe just the battery) key fob. I open the doors with just the key and no alarm. I manually unlocked the passenger door and then locked the driver door... then opened the passenger door and the alarm went off. Did all that totally by accident. So i'm assuming locking/unlocking the drivers side door with the key will arm/disarm the alarm.
