Overheating. Please help

Alright guys. You all might tell me that it's a blown head gasket but I'm really hoping it's not. I have an 05 g35 coupe with 86k miles. Last Thursday, I hit a parking stone and broke my radiator. I fixed it that same day but I filled it with tap water. It drove perfect over the weekend but the temperature started fluctuating, but it would go down when I drove and go up when I was idle. The next day, it would not come down and I had to stop a few times because I was so close to hitting red. At one point, it BARELY touched red. I refilled the coolant witb 50/50 and burped it for a while and then changed the thermostat. A bit of coolant leaked when I changed that so I refilled it. But it's still overheating like a mother****er. My friend said I just need to burp it again but I'm not sure. Please tell me theres something I can do that doesn't involve buying a new engine and head gasket fix.

It takes quite a bit of heat to warp a head, if you didn't have the temp gauge pegged you're probably ok.

I suspect your burping process is flawed, did you open the bleed valve on the heater hose to remove air? Did you drive with the heater on HIGH until hot air pumped out? Most people use a Lisle spill-free funnel which makes the process much easier. Google how to burp a G35 it's not like burping things like Chevy trucks and other vehicles that practically burp themselves.

The G35 is like an angry baby that drank an entire bottle and is squirming and screaming and won't f'ing sleep because it has to burp but it can't... YOU have to burp it.

Hope you mixed the coolant with distilled water this time. Even if you did there was probably some tap water left when you drained it and I'd flush it again. Rust can be a cars worst enemy. But first, fix that overheat issue and hope for the best

The anti-corrosives in the glycol should be able to limit any corrosion as long as he performs the next flush according to scheduled maintenance.

If you used well water or something I would flush it twice just to be sure though
