So ever since I bought my G35 Coupe (350GT Skyline because I'm in New Zealand) I've been wondering what the hell this cable is.
It is located in the center console. Anybody have any ideas? The car was imported directly from Japan if that helps?

 

Plus it's not an old iPhone cable.. (already tried that)

 

Looks aftermarket, someone chopped a big hole in the bottom of the tray and added that cable. I've never seen a cable with that harness before so I have no idea. Take the console off and find out what they spliced into, my guess is some kind of aux input to the radio for an MP3 player of sorts.

 

How about a ole skool Ipod, like first ones? I have one also in my G, to bad I lost my old Ipod...

 

Definitely not an ipod. Could be to a GPS. Or radar detector. First it shouldn't be hard to track it down and see where it goes. Is there an aftermarket radio? If not, I'm sure it's just tapped into 12v power. Look for any part numbers on the cable and see if it shows what it's compatible with

 

^Agreed. I love my old school Ipod for the car. Can't beat 120G of storage and the fact I bought it several years ago for $11 on Craigslist. I truly believe they are bulletproof.......

 

Makes me want to dig up my ipod now. I still have that brick of an ipod laying around somewhere
