race or not to race?
I have encountered a lot of you know; i can bet that car people lately. But little do they know. It sees that everyone wants to race me i don't know why. When i had my Accord it wasen't this bad. I wanted to know if anyone has encountered the same type of problem. If so how did you handle this problem. I just smoked there *** and called it a day!

Re: race or not to race?
I only race interesting cars: BMW 330, is300, S2000(still looking forward to race one), nice mustangs.
No civic, neon, cavalier or other cheap econobox. (unless they have a nice setup)

Re: race or not to race?
What Mustangs do you recommend to stay away from? And which Mitsubishi Eclipses? I know these cars could be suped up to death, but I am talking about stock cars.
I am 200 miles away from my 1,200, and need to be ready to race. I don't think even the IS300 is in the same category, unless it is the turbo version.

Yeah I know a great deal about mustangs(I used to have 2 of them), I try to go after the 94-98 model because 99% of them are slow if they are NA.
Most 99+ are stock but still faster then us with a good driver, 85-93 are the ones that scare me the most! I did one highway pull from 95mph with a 92 with a 6 psi blower(nothing else) and we were neck to neck untill 120mph.

edit: All stock Eclipses are slow.

Most probably don't know the G too well yet so want to see what we got. Sometimes you get teased by those that don't have a chance but just want to see the car move out. If I'm in the right mood, I'll do the same with a Z06 if they'll go for it and get a reality check. It's great to see high performance cars in action. It's not always about winning. Sometimes, it's just to see how close you can hang. Seems the G coupe is in the middle range of performance so hard to find even challenges. ...dean

dude ... you actually edited that?
simple answer ... race if you wanna.
Its your choice, make it wisely.
Your still the winner either way.
IF.... you dont crash, cause a accident, kill someone, get pulled over, blow your motor etc.
Its up to you, personally I would rather race on a track.

if you see a mustang, firebird, and or camero that needs a paint job, dirty, and loud (they devote all there time & money in the engine) don't even try to race it. chances are that you will be embaressed.

Re: race or not to race?
what's u people.... Alll i have to say is that it is not that car it is the driver.......if you don't have a good driver you can have the fastest car in the world and still lose. But the slowest car with the best driver will always win. Example: in town we have an Integra with a GSR supercharger.... The man who owens it only runs high to mid 14 sec. 1/4 mile... That same day a more capable driver drove a 12.9 sec.1/4 mile. Same conditions same track. POINT PROVEN

I'm not into drag racing. I take my G35 to Solo2 autocross events. I definately have a ways to go as far as skill is concerned.

HAHAHA anyone wanna take this one?
I don't see anything wrong with that statement. I've looked over the specs of the Eclipses, and there ain't a one straight from the factory that can compete with a G35 Sedan, let alone the Coupe. Stock Eclipses ARE slow - comparatively speaking, of course. ;-)

Any 5.0 perf parts are cheap- and us mod stang guys like it when unsuspecting newbie revs it up next to us...on a side note, if it sets off the car alarm on the cars near it when it starts...think twice...
Taking the horse to the roadcourse.....maybe some track time for the G this weekend...see what kind of time I can pull against the IS300's.
But against the horse 1.04G and 450+ rwhp? At least my fillings are intact after driving the G-
