I paid tax, registration fees, bank fees and my first month payment. which added upto $1630 (approx.)
Also, they didnt have any incentive. I just negotiated the deal in this manner.
Try running the numbers again, see if you can get close to my monthly payments, you should be able to.
you must have great credit

Viral,

A 700 credit score is pretty good. Anything below 620 is considered sub-prime...just FYI!

Got it exactly. Man, I am shocked by the 71% residual. I have read that usually the residual isn't negotiable, but there is usually play in the MF due to the dealership trying to make money on you. Did you negotiate that 71% or was that what they offered to you initially?

no i did not negotiate the residual, it fell in place automatically when i negotiated other numbers. sorry if i gave you the idea that i neg. on the residual.

dude... i see you are in NJ... me too.
I got the car from Martha at Ray Catena. If you are interested in the same deal, I can give her a call, hopefully she is willing to do the same for you.
let me know?

I leased mine because we just had our first baby in December and have plans for a second one in 2-3 years. (btw, the baby is what made me change from a 350z w/2 seats to the G35 coupe w/4 - SO glad I did, it's so much nicer than the Z) So that means, whether I bought or leased, I pretty much knew I can only keep it for 3 years. If I were to buy and sell in 3 years, I would have had to put $9000 down to get my monthly payments down below $500 - a self prescribed ceiling on what I wanted to pay per month (in fact I got preapproved for a loan @ 4.85%). And then I probably would have only made a few thousand more selling it privately than the payoff would have been. Bottom line was, I could save $7000 at the time of purchase and pay about $75 less each month for three years, then walk away.

I'll end up saving nearly $10,000 since I had no intention of buy the car at the end of the lease. This was my first lease so I researched long and hard to come to this decision. I had the 9K saved and the blank check loan from Capital One all ready to purchase, but when I ran these numbers, it made no sense for me to buy in this situation.
