RB25DET NEO Swap on 2005 G35 Coupe
RB25DET NEO Swap on 2005 G35 Coupe
Wassup guys I’m now really learning about cars and I’ll be getting my G35 coupe very soon and I wanted to do a RB25 swap when I get it but I wanted to know about a few things first. (Please bear with me since I am new to this.)
1. When I do the swap can I make a custom Y pipe and use the back of the invidia Gemini catback system on it?
2. Will the dual exhaut cause power loss?
3. Will the dual exhaust affect the natural sound of the RB25?
Thank You Very Much.

1. Yes
2. No
3. Any exhaust modifications change the tone of the exhaust but it won't make it sound like a completely different engine.
You'll probably need a muffler shop to delete the y pipe and just make a collecter-to-cat to make it work, the RB25 was an INLINE 6 cylinder, the stock VQ is a V-block 6 cylinder. The difference is the existing motor uses two manifolds, one on each side, whereas the RB25 uses one large manifold on one side.
Not a big deal, any muffler shop can fab up what you need with enough lead time to gather the correct flange for the new manifold.
