New G35 Coupe!

Hey guys! So I finally got a G35 Coupe. It's a 2006 in Diamond Graphite with the premium and sport package 6mt with 99,200 miles on her so still hasn't broken a 100k yet. My first question to you guys is I'm looking to put a G37 steering wheel in and I know it'll need to be repinned to get the steering wheel controls to work but has anyone kept the steering wheel controls working on the G37 steering wheel in a G35 with an aftermarket head unit?

Stupid question, why do you want to change the steering wheel? This sounds like a recipe for headaches as the airbags and sensors many not be compatible. What is it about these cars that people just can't leave them alone but instead start ripping them apart as soon as they get them. Congrats on the car.

These cars are cheap and fun to drive. Theres plenty of aftermarket parts for em. People just like to update em and keep em modern looking.

Well I think the wheel just has a more modern look to it really. I won't be changing right away as my wheel is in great condition and I don't have an airbag for the 37 wheel yet. And thank you I picked her up January 1st

Check out this thread. This was the very first modification I did to my car, i installed a g37 ipl steering wheel. I haven’t installed an aftermarket head unit, I kept the oem head unit and installed an iPod adapter to use my iPhone. There’s a thread in the audio/video section with a parts list that also includes the steering wheel control adapter or something so that you can use your steering wheel controls to control the aftermarket head unit. If you re-pin the g37 steering wheel properly I don’t see an issue, I re-pinned mine and have been using the steering wheel controls with the oem headunit. Keep in mind you will need the airbag from a g37 and they can be expensive, the installation is plug and play.
