To Hotchkis or Not to Hotchkis?-That is the '05 6MT question
Before I purchased my '05 6MT coupe I planned on buying the Hotchkis swaybar setup. I like the fact that it is adjustable front and rear. I've added rear sway bars to most of my previous cars to tighten up the handling and eliminate some of the built in safety understeer engineered into the stock suspensions. One of my previous cars was a '95 Acura Integra GSR which handled like a dream and I put a Neuspeed rear bar in it that made it handle sweeping turns near flat and neutral without over or understeer. But with the Sport Suspension on the G35 I notice it handles even flatter with better grip and almost no lean at all. I chock it up to the Sport Suspension. I've taken some pretty fast turns on it and the "slip" light will start to blink and cut the engine power before I notice any lean on the car (VDC on). So, have other people noticed how flat the car handles turns on this car? Anyone plan on upgrading to aftermarket sway bars or do most of you with '05 models feel like it doesn't really need it?
The "need it" thing would automatically come into play if you do not find that the car has the at the limit handling balance that you need to get the most out of the car. Sway bars would be used to fine tune at the limit behavior so you end up with just the right behavior for your taste.
So true....
....why do these keep showing up if you're not searching for answers? Wonder if he ever bought the Hotchkis....Gary
