Loud clack coming from top end
I have a rev up 06 g35 coupe 6mt and i was driving it and all of a sudden started to get a very loud clack coming from the motor. it started to run bad as well so got it towed home and thought that it was my timing tensioners that have gone bad so i replaced everything inside the timing case including my intake vvt sprockets
redid all my timing and put it all back together but when i started the car again it still makes the same sound! i used my stethoscope and believe i’ve narrowed it down to the driver side. when i did the timing chain i also saw quite a bit of metal in the oil which i believed was the worn tensioners and chain. this is what it sounds like
any ideas?? i measured all my valve clearances on the driver side and there all still within spec motor only has 97000 miles on it as well

REALLY bad rod knock sound in the background, however that sharp arrhythmic clicking sound I'm not too sure about. My suspicion is you're going to find a snapped connecting rod.
Either way that motor is coming out because of that rod knock and metal shavings.
Was it really low on oil?
